Vintage Flair

I have a weakness for classic movies. You can find me plopped on the sofa on a Sunday afternoon enjoying an old classic movie on TCM.  I sit in awe watching the glamorous actresses in their beautifully coiffed hair, impeccably made up faces, and tailored to perfection clothing. They had a ladylike style that I wish still existed and I long for.  I want to wear gowns made of  lace, adorable gloves, cute hats, and carry chic clutches. I long for a life imbued with vintage flair.

For those of you who swoon over classic movies as I do, a wedding showered in vintage flair is a no brainer.  Lace, cascading bouquets, a pastel palette, and ladylike details scream vintage wedding. It is all in the ladylike details and nothing says vintage like delicate lace gloves or gorgeous pearls.

English Tea Inspiration

I love to throw soirees and my specialty are themed occasions. I love to come up with some kind of concept and work it into the details of my soirees. Engagement Fetes and Bridal Showers are the perfect occasion to do just that.

When coming up with a concept, I think of what I love, travels I’ve taken, and things that make me happy. For example, my honeymoon has been the source of many of my soiree ideas. I was fortunate enough to visit England and I fell in love with their tea and biscuits. Everywhere we went we were consuming teas, finger sandwiches, petite desserts, and biscuits. It was so lovely sitting at a table, taking in the sights, and enjoying all of these delicious delicacies. I fell in love with their customs and have adopted them as my own. I am now a tea and biscuits kind of girl.

English Tea would make a wonderful theme for an Engagement Fete or Bridal Shower. The main colors could be red, white, and blue. You could serve your guests an assortment of teas, delicious sandwiches, mini desserts and biscuits. And we can’t forget the Union Jack. It could be incorporated into the invitation, napkins, or mugs. Favors in the form of teas or biscuits could be tucked into cutely wrapped boxes. Your guest will enjoy the assortment of scrumptious sandwiches and desserts. And who knows you just may convert some of your guests into tea and biscuits kind of people.Petite Desserts Union Jack Mug English Inspired Desserts Red Flowers
